Join Marty Morgan and I as we circle the globe to examine WWII battlefields using technology I am obsessed with.  We’ll use drones, laser scanning, photogrammetry, thermography, and multispectral technology to answer questions about battles of World War II.

My sincere thanks to the folks who made it possible:  Carahsoft, Brook Lapping, NatGeo Channel, DJI, FARO, Pix4D, KAARTA, BirsEyeView Aerobotics, FLIR, Micasense, Dell.

. . . and thank you to these folks who enabled me to survive the nine-month adventure:  Fjall Raven, Oboz Footware, Scubapro, Bell & Ross

Finally, my special, personal, thanks to:

Craig Abod, Marty Morgan, Paul Lang, Paul Miller, John Hayes Fisher, Greg Sanderson, Nathan Williams, Martin Kemp, Adam Warner, Yasmine Permaul, Nicholas De Taranto, Tom Gaisford, Helena Korner, and the entire, extended team at Brook Lapping.  It takes a village.  What an honor it is to be part of this one.

I hope you enjoy watching this series as much as I did making it!

  1. Hi guys, I watched your show on Papua New Guinea and I can’t tell you how much it meant to me to see where my Dad was in WW2. I would love to buy the DVD of this series so I can show my sisters. Can you please let me know where I can get some copies? Thanks heaps. Robyn

      1. Hi again- doesn’t seem to be available on that site. Anywhere else it might be for sale?

      2. Sorry, I was less than clear. By “keeping an eye” on the NatGeo store website I shared I meant that the DVD is not available yet. If/when it does become available the NatGeo store will be the place to find it. We are waiting for it here too! Cheers.

  2. Hi guys, I have been watching all the episodes on this series. I myself is military history enthusiast and interested in World War II history. I am from Singapore, and I did documentations and explorations of the British military installations in Singapore. I am amazed and wow at your sophisticated equipment, the 3D modelling and photogrammetry is amazing. It is hard to see the whole area with naked eyes.
